Location:

This beautiful community is located on the north shore at massive Eagle Lake.  In Lassen county approximately 40 miles north of Susanville is where you will find this hidden jewel.  The second largest natural lake in the state boasts over 100 miles of shoreline with rock cliffs, bays and peninsulas.
From Reno, travel west on hwy 395 to Susanville (approximately 90 miles).  Then take hwy 139 also known as Ash street, north approx 35 miles to Eagle Lake Rd.  1 mile north of 139 on Eagle Lake Rd you will go left on Stone rd to the gated entry of Castlerock Village.

Amenities: 

Much care has been taken in the planning of the development to assure high standards for the community.  Castlerock has only 30 homesites nestled on about 80 acres.  Much of the land has been designated as common area to be kept in a natural state free of building.  Many of the homesites offer panoramic views of Eagle Lake and distant mountains.  The community is gated offering limited access and distracting traffic flow as other neighborhoods would have.  The lake has paved access through the community.  Near the boat launch picnicking areas will assure a great day on the lake.  Walking trails can be found in common areas.  Buck point is the location and Blm land is on the west.

Utilities:  


Water is provided by the property owner by source of well.   The well must be at least 100 feet from any septic tank or septic system and 50 feet from any sewer line.  Permits are approved by the Lassen county environmental health department.  They are issued by Lassen county building department.  You must file a notice of intention to drill and report of completion with the department of water resources.

Electricity provided by Lassen Municipal Utility District.  It is underground in the community.  You can contact them directly at 530-257-4174.

Sewer: 

Discharge septic tanks are used in the Stones-Bengard community.  Each property owner provides a septic tank with a pumping unit to pump sewage to a community line.  Sewer fees are $192.00 annually.  These fees may be paid quarterly at $48.00

The homeowner is responsible for purchasing all equipment and maintenance and repairs of the system.  Periodic maintenance is required.  Recommended pumping of the tank is about every 5-7 years and probably will depend on use as well.

Fire Protection:

The Castlerock community lies under the Stones-Bengard Community services district.  Currently the Stones-Bengard is a volunteer fire department.  It is located at 509-695 Stone road.  Approximately 2 miles from the Community.

Water supply for Castlerock is three freeze protected water tanks at separate locations with approximately 12,000 gallons in each tank. 

California department of Forestry has the Grasshopper station on highway 139 about 5 miles north of the lake.

CC&R's 

To keep a fine upscale community, homesites must keep certain standards.  Homes must have at minimum 2000 square foot of living space.  Each home must have attached garage of 3 units.  Only one home per lot may be built under current bylaws.  Fences must not exceed 3 feet in height.  Pets are limited and required containment at all times.  Mobile homes, manufactured or mobile housing is not allowed.  Maintenance of the common amenities will be shared by the property owners under the association.
